Objectifs This course allows participants to think about the universality of human rights in particular contexts of Asia and to gain a deepened understanding about human rights issues in this region. It ultimately aims at fostering an interdisciplinary study and multidimensional advocacy of human rights in Asia.
Méthodologie utilisée -Prior to the course, participants will be provided with reading materials on each lecture so that they are well prepared before the upcoming lectures. This allows a more interactive dialog and in-depth discussions during the lectures.
-Participants will be involved in a multidimensional learning which includes not only lectures, but also presentations, discussions and visits to human rights organizations in Korea.
-Moreover, every participant is expected to give a presentation about either a research or advocacy plan on a topic of his or her choice which is related to the course. Prior to their presentations, they will have an opportunity to discuss about their topic with the Course Director which will help them to develop their research/advocacy plan with the 13 lectures during the course.
Matériels utilisés
Enseigné par prominent human rights experts such as academics specialized in human rights, UN-mandated independent experts (treaty body members, special procedure mandate-holders, etc.), professional staff member of OHCHR field presences in Asia, lawyer, practitioners, activists, etc.
Titre, diplôme ou certificat obtenu A Certificate of Participation will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.
Bourses d’études “A limited number of scholarships are available for participants with financial difficulties to pay for the course. Applicants who have financial difficulties may apply for a full or partial scholarship provided by us. The scholarship may include the course fee, the accommodation fee at the student dormitory on campus and visa fee, where relevant. Airfare will be reimbursed upon presentation of relevant receipts up to a ceiling amount. The scholarship does NOT cover other travel or daily living expenses during the course. Please also note that the number of full scholarships is very limited due to our tight budget.
