Objectives The programme is designed for those seeking greater understanding of regional and global human rights and democratisation issues.

Admission requirements In order to be eligible for the APMA applicants must:

Hold a bachelor’s degree in any field, with a minimum GPA of 2.50 (or the equivalent). Students in the last year of their undergraduate programme can apply for admission provided they expect to graduate before 15 July of the previous academic year. The applicant needs to submit a certificate from their university indicating their status and expected date of graduation.
Demonstrated proficiency in English.
Experience in human rights or related work is an advantage but not required.
Academic or other publications or other evidence of writing and analytical skills an advantage but not required.

Additional information Master of Arts Program in Human Rights and Democratization (International Program) is a collaborated program that partners with four other universities in Asia-Pacific region. The four collaborating institutions include Ateneo de Manila Univesrity (the Philippines), Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia), Kathmandu School of Law (Nepal) and University of Colombo (Sri Lanka). The degree offers students the opportunity to study in both at Mahidol University in the first semester and choose to complete two elective courses and thesis at one of the collaborating institutions in the second semester. The combination of taking your courses in two countries, the expertise of your professors, and the diversity of your class gives you a unique learning experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
