Objectives LATMA is a Master's degree with a regional and interdisciplinary approach, focusing on the challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean in the area of human rights and democracy and their implications in political, legal, social, economic terms. It aims at strengthening both scientific and professional skills for the protection and promotion of human rights with interdisciplinary perspectives.

Content LATMA involves 800 hours of academic work over a ten-month period, including the preparation, submission and defense of a Master's thesis as a requirement for graduation.

The curricular structure of the Master's programme is divided into 6 areas:

- Foundations and contemporary issues of human rights
- International mechanisms for the protection of human rights
- Recognition and access to human rights
- State, politics and human rights
- Professional development
- Methodology

Methodology used LATMA offers classes, workshops and activities involving visiting lecturers from the regional programmes of the Global Campus of Human Rights and international experts.
