Objetivos This course provides participants with specific knowledge of the most essential norms, standards, mechanisms and methods for RoL development. The course also looks at the central actors and missions, their respective mandates and experiences and views on future challenges.

Contenido The course will cover different aspects of rule of law, and describe how international organisations work with it by using examples from both past and present missions. The course will also discuss different methods and tools for how to work efficiently with rule of law issues and problems.
The objective of the course is to provide the participants with knowledge needed in
a rule of law mission or a rule of law component of a more comprehensive peace mission, and the skills necessary to perform well in a crisis environment. The course combines lectures, seminars, case studies, and simulations.

Requisitos de admisión Approximately 25 legal professionals with some years of relevant work experience. International experience in the legal field is an advantage. Preference will be given to persons who just started working or are scheduled to work in a rule of law mission.
Coste de la enseñanza/Coste de alojamiento The course fee is € 1260 and includes full board accomodation.
