| Objetivos |
The objective of the course is to enable students, through research, teaching, discussion and writing to acquire a thorough knowledge of the theory behind and the law protecting human rights. By the end of the course students should have (1) overall awareness of the history and theory of human rights, (2) detailed knowledge of the enforcement mechanisms of general public international law and of selected topics of sustantive law, (3) detailed knowledge of the law of the European Convention on Human Rights and its enforcement mechanism and of other selected European human rights instruments and (4) familiarity with the specialised tools and resources for research into human rights law. Seminars in the first term are principally concerned with general public international law; those in the second term with European legal systems. |

Applications for the LLM and MSc programmes are considered from 1 October and accepted until 31 August each year. |

| Requisitos de admisión |
The minimum basic admission requirement for taught postgraduate degrees is an Upper Second Class honours degree (or better), or its international equivalent, in Law, Arts or Social Sciences.
The majority of our applicants have studied law; applications from non-law students with relevant studies and experience will be considered, however, and further guidance on this as it applies to each of our programmes may be sought from the School. |
