Objetivos This e-learning course aims to equip professionals who hold responsibilities for implementing child safeguarding policies within their organisations with a basic understanding of the key issues, concepts and frameworks pertaining to child protection and safeguarding. It will help build the knowledge and skills to enable them to strengthen, develop and implement protection measures to keep their organisations safe for children.

Metodología empleada The course involves approximately 30 hours of reading, on-line working groups, interaction with students and instructors, webinars and assignments and is offered over a 6 week period. The course is based on a participatory active learning approach with an emphasis on personal and professional reflection and peer to peer learning. The participants are required to work independently by reading and preparing final assignments and collaboratively by getting involved in group discussions and webinars.

Requisitos de admisión The course is intended for, among others, humanitarian workers, staff members of development and children's rights/social justice organisations, including development NGOs and UN specialised agencies and others who's work places them in contact with children and for whom they have safeguarding responsibilities. Participants should have a good written command of English -- the working language of the course -- and have high competence and comfort with computer and Internet use. HREA aims to ensure equal gender and geographical distribution across the selected participants.
