Objectives
This MA programme aims to introduce students to theoretical, law and policy issues of importance in human rights discourse; develop students' ability to engage with these issues in a critical way; present students with intellectually challenging tasks that will allow them to improve their problem-solving and critical skills; give students a good grounding in the key texts and practices concerning the modern human rights ideal; provide students with the rational and research tools to take part in policy decisions and judgements concerning human rights; contribute to fields of work in which human rights expertise is needed.

Admission requirements
Applicants for admission should have, or expect to obtain before entry, a good Bachelor's degree in a relevant area, equivalent to an upper second class Honours degree at a British University (GPA of 3.5). Applicants from other areas, who are able to show the intellectual capacity to deal with the issues covered by the programme will also be considered.
