University of Sussex, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Objectives Human Rights are one of the most globalised political values of our time and increasingly transcend the nation state. Reflecting this reality, the Sussex MA in Human Rights goes beyond narrowly legalistic approaches to critically examine how human rights are implemented, appropriated and resisted in a number of contexts around the world. It considers how human rights are socially embedded in wider processes of poverty, war and mass displacement, and the creation of global forms of governance. This interdisciplinary MA welcomes applicants with first degrees from across the social sciences, humanities and law.
