Objectives
This course aims at enhancing the awareness of and the capacity to apply different methods in human rights research. It also gives PhD candidates an opportunity to present and receive in depth comments on their ongoing research.

The course, together with the paper to be written in advance by each participant, corresponds to 5 ECTS or 135 hours of work. The participants will receive a certificate to this effect.

Admission requirements
PhD students based at Nordic and Baltic universities. The students should conduct doctoral studies in the field of human rights. A limited number of young post-docs, i.e. persons who have obtained their doctoral degree recently, may be accepted. Depending on the number and quality of Nordic and Baltic applications, participants from other parts of Europe and the world may also be selected.

Tuition/Accommodation
The course is funded by NordForsk and Eugen Schauman foundation. Full scholarships covering travel, accommodation and meals are provided for 20-25 Nordic, 3 Baltic and 1 African participant. Other participants will have to pay for their own travel and accommodation costs.
